Claridge's submits major extension plans to include new basement spa

Coroin Ltd, which is majority owned by Qatar Holding's Constellation Hotels, has submitted plans to the City of Westminster Council for a major extension to the 5-star 203-bed Claridge's Hotel in Mayfair.

The proposed works include a five-storey basement extension beneath the Art Deco wing of the property, which would include a Spa with indoor swimming pool, wine cellar and chocolatier as well as improved back of house facilities.

Additionally, consent is sought for a two-storey extension featuring 40 new bedrooms, replacing an extension of time planning consent secured for a similar proposal in November 2013.
